According to the\u00a0National Association of Rare Disorders, \u201cProgression of muscle weakness typically stops within two years, but, in a young child, the consequences of severe neuromuscular weakness are progressive.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Austin, who beat the predicted two-year deadline, has been on a ventilator and in a wheelchair since he went into respiratory failure in 2003.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSome people might think \u2018that sucks\u2019 but I say it\u2019s the biggest blessing possible. It\u2019s given me a life and a perspective I could have never imagined,\u201d Austin writes on\u00a0Live Intrepid, his company\u2019s website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The name of his company, that sells clothing, is inspired by his philosophy to \u201clive fearless and live adventurous. [His] whole life he\u2019s been proving them wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The majority of netizens gushed over the sweet moment, sharing comments like, \u201cStephanie [mom] looks so beautiful!!!! And Austin so handsome. This makes me happy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSuch a beautiful mother\/son dance moment together,\u201d writes a second, while a third, shares, \u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cLOVE this moment for you and YOUR MOM!
